Training
•Bullet: Majors build advanced training in one of three specializations — Dance Technique, Choreography, or History & Theory of Dance — and complete a minimum of four semesters of modern/contemporary technique in the Western concert dance tradition.
•Bullet: The choreography sequence runs through Sources of Movement (144) or Movement Improvisation (148) before Choreography: Solo & Duet Showcase (146A).
Performance & Productions
•Bullet: An annual spring concert features students performing alongside faculty and guest-artist repertory pieces, cast through competitive evaluation.
Facilities
•Bullet: Technique classes and rehearsals are based in the dedicated Bancroft Dance Studio at 2401 Bancroft Way, with major productions staged in the 547-seat Zellerbach Playhouse.
Degree Flexibility
•Bullet: No audition is required to declare the major — admission runs through coursework and GPA review rather than a live or recorded audition.
