•One monologue from a published play or professional writer

Application Logistics

•Submit audition materials via Acceptd

•Apply to UAB before auditioning; department offers cannot be made before university acceptance

•Application is due two weeks before the preferred audition date, with a final deadline of January 16, 2027

•Program participates in MTCP: Song Option C, Monologue Option A, Dance Option B, Ballet Option B optional

Important Notes

•Complete the BSMART scholarship application to be considered for talent scholarships

•BFA Musical Theatre applicants must also apply through Acceptd for scholarship consideration

What's The Process

Audition Process

•Submit video audition, headshot, and resume via Acceptd

•Choose a preferred audition date in the Acceptd application

•Applications are due two weeks before the preferred audition date, with a final deadline of January 16, 2027

•UAB contacts applicants within two weeks to confirm the audition date

•Department cannot make offers before the student is accepted by UAB

Audition Expectations

•CAP Auditions in St. Louis, MO: November 13-14, 2026

•On-campus auditions: November 21, 2026 and January 30, 2027

•Virtual audition: January 23, 2027

•Chicago Unified Auditions: February 1-3, 2027
