MTCP Song Option C

•Applicant chooses Option A or B:

•Option A: One pre-1970 + one post-1970 song (contrasting styles)

•Option B: One MT song + one contrasting song (any style)

•60-90 seconds each

Monologues

MTCP Monologue Option A

•One monologue from a published play or professional writer

•60-90 seconds

Dance

MTCP Dance Option A

•Dance/movement video required

•Must include at least one turn, one jump, and one kick

•Or suitable rotation, elevation, and extension

•60-90 seconds

Ballet

MTCP Ballet Option B

•Ballet video optional

•Wild Card per Musical Theater Common Prescreen criteria

Application Logistics

•Program participates in Musical Theater Common Prescreen

•Submit prescreen materials through UA's Acceptd portal

•Students invited to audition for both Acting and Musical Theatre must submit a separate Acceptd application for each concentration

Eligibility

•Must be academically admissible to UA for Musical Theatre audition consideration

•UA says the 2027-2028 scholarship deadline has not been announced; follow UA scholarship deadlines when applying

What's The Process

Audition Process

•Submit MTCP prescreen materials via Acceptd by November 1, 2026 at 11:59 PM CST

•Must be academically admissible to be considered for a Musical Theatre audition

•Students invited to audition for both Acting and Musical Theatre must submit a separate Acceptd application for each concentration

•Prescreen decisions determine invitation to the on-campus auditions

Audition Expectations

•Invited applicants choose one on-campus audition date: January 16, 2027 (Musical Theatre only) or February 6, 2027 (Acting and Musical Theatre)

•You do not need to attend both days

•More details are sent to invited students via the email submitted on Acceptd

•Auditions are held in person on campus; students who need to audition virtually must request it by emailing thtrdnce@ua.edu
