•Horn: two solos of any genre (selections, etudes, and non-conventional pieces allowed) showcasing your range — no memorization or accompaniment required
•Trumpet: two contrasting solos or etudes (selections or single movements allowed) showcasing musical and technical range
•Trombone: two contrasting solos or etudes — no accompanist or memorization required
•Euphonium, Tuba: two contrasting excerpts from a solo or etude(s)
Scales & Technique
•Horn: major scales, two octaves
•Trumpet: all major scales and arpeggios (two octaves when possible)
•Trombone: major scales, two octaves
•Euphonium, Tuba: all major scales (memorized)
Sight-Reading
•Horn: possible sight-reading
•Trumpet: sight-reading required
•Trombone: possible sight-reading
•Euphonium, Tuba: sight-reading required
Accompaniment
•No accompanist for brass auditions
•Provide your own instrument for live auditions
Recorded Audition
•Same repertoire submitted in audio or video format
•Horn: submit scales as one recording (no longer than 4 minutes) in as many octaves as possible
•Trumpet: submit all 12 major scales and arpeggios as one video (may be compiled from different takes); sight-reading not required when recorded
•Trombone: include three two-octave scales of your choice; sight-reading not required when recorded
•Euphonium, Tuba: recordings should be proctored by a teacher who selects two major scales and sight-reading — submit four videos (two excerpts, one scales, one sight-reading)
