Incoming freshmen and transfers are eligible for Fall admission only

Eligibility

No audition or portfolio is needed for Popular Music admission

Current UO students may be considered for Winter or Spring admission to Popular Music

Audition Process

No audition or portfolio is required for admission to Popular Music

Applicants may elect to audition for music scholarship consideration

Auditions are scheduled through the SOMD application when applicable

Decisions

SOMD admission decisions are issued in March

Music scholarship offers are typically emailed around April 1

Scholarship Info

SOMD performance scholarships are awarded based on audition — most are automatically renewed for up to four years. Scholarship offers are emailed approximately April 1. No separate music scholarship application is required
