Application Logistics
•Two-step: apply to UO (Common App or UO website) AND complete the separate SOMD online application
•Both applications due by January 15, 2027 (Fall term)
•Fall 2027 SOMD application opens August 1, 2026
Eligibility
•Current UO students eligible for admission during any term
•Winter 2027 application deadline: November 16, 2026
•Spring 2027 application deadline: February 22, 2027
•Placement audition strongly encouraged but not required for admission
•Must complete both UO and SOMD applications by January 15 (not the general Feb 15 transfer deadline)
•Late applications risk non-admission and are generally not considered for scholarships
Enrollment
•Audition is for course placement only — not required for admission to the BA/BS Dance degree
•Strongly encouraged for all BA/BS Dance applicants
•Attend during a live audition date or during Week of Welcome (September 2027) before fall term
•Incoming freshmen attending IntroDUCKtion in July should attend the spring term placement class
