IN-PERSON AUDITION
•Conducted in a class format with center combinations in ballet, jazz, and modern
•Arrive warm — no formal warm-up or ballet barre provided
•Additional styles may be added at faculty discretion
•Must complete the full audition to be considered
VIDEO AUDITION
•Personal introduction: who you are, why you are applying, what aspect of training best prepared you
•Technique segments following instructional videos in the Fine Arts Application: ballet, modern, jazz
•Optional: pointe work, partnering excerpts (ballet), musical theatre or tap (jazz)
•Optional performance footage may be added at the end
•Total runtime approximately 10 minutes
•Film in a studio or classroom when possible, camera focused solely on yourself

AUDITION POLICY
•Each dancer may audition up to two times total (not per year)
•After two auditions, no further applications accepted
•Summer recruitment events (REVEL, Tremaine Nationals, NYCDA) do not count toward formal audition attempts
•In-person audition counts as one of two attempts even if supplemental application is not submitted
ENROLLMENT
•University policy requires official admission to UA before receiving a decision from the School of Dance
•Under Early Action, official acceptance decisions released on or after January 15
•Video auditioners currently not eligible for first-year Dance Merit Scholarships
What's The Process
APPLICATION PROCESS
•Two-step process: first apply to the University of Arizona, then complete the CFA Application Form in the Future Wildcat portal
•Supplemental application accessible only after main campus application is submitted
•Submit application at least one week before audition date
•Applications reviewed on a rolling basis — decisions within 45-60 days
IN-PERSON AUDITION
•Highly suggested for first-year Dance Merit Scholarship consideration
•Includes optional Q&A session with faculty after the audition
•Select audition date in the Fine Arts Application
DRESS CODE
•Solid color leotard and tights, unitard, or form-fitting attire
•Ballet shoes (ballet), barefoot (modern), jazz shoes (jazz)
•Hair securely up and away from the face
•No loose or baggy clothing
