Audition Requirements

These requirements are from the Fall 2026 entry cycle. Fall 2027 requirements are typically posted between August and October and usually change only slightly — confirm on the official source before submitting.

Repertoire List

Perform a solo, movements from a sonata or concerto, or etudes on snare drum, xylophone or marimba, or multiple percussion, demonstrating lyrical phrasing and technical proficiency (additional instruments such as drum set, quads, or quints may be used in the same audition)

Play major scales through the range of the instrument and demonstrate good stick action, hand-to-hand activity, and rhythmic accuracy

Sight-read a short passage demonstrating accuracy in rhythm, pitch, dynamics, and articulation
