Audition Format
•In-person performance audition at King Charles Court, London (17-28 November 2025)
•Two examiners present: Head of Department and a specialist in your principal study
•You may be asked to work on a particular passage with the Head of Department
•Panel will not stop you while playing but may specify which sections to perform
•Warm-up session scheduled before your audition
Accompaniment
•Staff accompanist provided; bring copies of your music
•Around 10 minutes' rehearsal with the accompanist before your audition
Recorded Audition (Embark)
•Available for overseas applicants or those unable to travel
•Submit a spoken introduction video (max 3 minutes) plus your performance
•Record two contrasting pieces (max 15 minutes total) showing a range of styles and technique
•Live accompanist recommended; pre-recorded backing tracks or unaccompanied recordings accepted
•Upload as separate files via Embark; recorded audition deadline 24 October 2025
•Audio-only files are not accepted
Interview
•Short interview follows the audition
•Panel discusses your past training, achievements, and musical aspirations
•Come prepared to talk about music you listen to and concerts you have attended
