Training
•The Vocal/General track combines applied voice with the education sequence required for K-12 music teaching and licensure.
•Current catalog requirements include choir participation, Becoming a Teacher, Foundations of Education, field experience, Secondary Curriculum and Instruction, Effective Classroom Environments, Elementary and Preschool Music Teaching Methodology, Secondary Vocal Music Teaching Methodology, and Diction for Singers I.
Professional Development
•A professional semester includes Student Teaching Seminar, Enhanced Student Teaching in a Secondary School, and an edTPA Seminar.
•The vocal endorsement gives future teachers a focused path for leading singers while building general music teaching skills.
Facilities
•Students work through Trevecca's School of Education and School of Music and Worship Arts, with applied study and supervised field experience connected to the licensure sequence.
Location
•Trevecca's Nashville setting supports observation of school, church, and community music practice while students complete teacher preparation.
