Monologues

Theater Scholarship Audition (Optional)

Performance-area scholarship applicants prepare one memorized monologue, maximum two minutes

Classical or contemporary material is accepted

Virtual interview applicants submit a self-tape before the scheduled virtual interview

Transfer Pathway

Students completing an eligible KCTCS associate degree with at least a 2.0 GPA can enter the BA Theater Arts pathway with three of Transylvania's five general-education areas satisfied. Theater Arts major requirements and any optional Fine Arts Scholarship audition or review remain separate.

Audition Process

Admission to the BA Theater Arts major is through Transylvania's university application

No separate program audition is published for major admission

Admitted first-year students may compete for Fine Arts Scholarships in theater

Theater scholarship requirements are separate from admission requirements and vary by performance, design/technology, or stage management area

Scholarship Info

Fine Arts Scholarship

Incoming first-year students may compete for annual Fine Arts Scholarship awards of $3,000, $4,000, or $5,000

Awards may be combined with academic scholarships

Students may compete in more than one fine arts area and choose one award if selected for multiple areas

Theater scholarship recipients enroll in Technical Theater in their first term and Theater Practicum during fall and winter terms
