Audition Requirements

Dance

Audition

Participate in the Towson Dance audition as part of the BFA application process

Audition begins at 9:00 AM and ends at approximately 1:00 PM

Dance faculty assess technical and artistic ability and readiness for the BFA

Additional Materials

Headshot (Required)

Email a clear 8x10 headshot, preferably JPEG, to complete audition registration

Questionnaire (Required)

Submit the online audition registration application

Admission Pathway

Professional BFA is a screened major and requires a dance audition

Students enter Towson as Pre-Dance majors

After university and program acceptance, students complete Foundational First-Year Dance Experience courses with a 3.00 GPA or higher to continue in the major

Apply to Towson University before auditioning; final university admission is not required before audition

Each audition closes when 30 candidates have registered

Students may audition only twice for the major

Dance Scholarships

Dance Talent and COFAC Dean's scholarship eligibility requires passing the pre-dance audition, acceptance into the major, full-time Dance major status, and faculty nomination

Renewal requires Department of Dance GPA, professional disposition, participation, and service criteria
