Requirements
•One Contemporary Monologue from a published play
•1-2 minutes in length (timed from first word, cut off at 2 minutes)
•Character should be talking to another person present in the room
•Character should want something important from that other person
•Must read the entire play from which monologue is taken
•Age-appropriate role (avoid characters more than 13 years from your age)
•Choose material you understand, enjoy, and that touches something meaningful in you
Do Not
•Original (unpublished) work
•Stand-up comedy routines
•Film material or imitations of film actors
•Small children characters
•Characters with serious mental deficiencies
•Characters under influence of mind-altering substances
