Admission (No Audition Required)
•Bullet: Students apply to the College of Wooster and enter as BA Music candidates
•Bullet: No audition is required to enroll
Gateway Entrance Audition
•Bullet: Near the end of the second semester, pass an entrance audition before a faculty jury of three on your principal instrument or voice
•Bullet: Repertoire from several historical periods and styles, performed at a high level
•Bullet: Notify the chairperson in writing at least three weeks before the audition
•Bullet: Only after passing may the student declare the Bachelor of Music Education as their major
•Bullet: A second opportunity is available in the first two weeks of the third semester if the first attempt is unsuccessful
Accompaniment
•Bullet: Staff collaborative pianist provided for on-campus auditions
◦Sub-bullet: Email PDFs of sheet music at least 2 weeks before the audition
Scholarship Audition (Optional)
•Bullet: Music Scholarship for incoming first-years: $2,000-$8,000 per year
•Bullet: On-campus audition at Scheide Music Center
•Bullet: Virtual auditions available by request (contact Melissa Puster)
•Bullet: Must audition as an incoming first-year (transfers not eligible)
