•Housed in the Boyer College of Music and Dance, accredited by the National Association of Schools of Dance (NASD) — Temple was the first accredited dance department in Pennsylvania higher education (1975)

Training
•30-credit research-centered MA (distinct from the performance-focused MFA), built around creativity, research, and teaching
•Core coursework includes Concepts of Culture, Dancing in the City, Dancing Self in Community, Educating Dance, Embodied Craft, and Research Methods in Dance
•Culminates in an in-depth thesis project; graduate studies coordinated by Sherril Dodds
•Faculty have performed with the Martha Graham Dance Company, Metropolitan Opera, and Ririe-Woodbury Dance Company, and hold NEA, Guggenheim, and Fulbright awards
•Completable full- or part-time via morning and afternoon classes on Main Campus
Performance & Productions
•Productions staged at Conwell Dance Theater, a 175-seat black-box with a 40' x 30' sprung wood stage and professional lighting and projection
