Audition Requirements

Repertoire

•Audition on voice as your principal area

•Three selections including at least one foreign-language art song or aria and one 20th/21st century American, English, or Canadian art song

•A sacred song, hymn arrangement, spiritual, or standard musical theatre selection may substitute for one of the above

•All selections must be performed from memory

Accompaniment

•An accompanist is provided

•Mail or email sheet music to the department at least one week before the scheduled audition

•Complete the online Music, Theatre & Dance Audition and Scholarship Application

•Schedule an audition during MTD Audition Visit Days or a personalized visit before March 15

•Admitted students take a music theory and aural-skills placement assessment for course placement only, not admission

•Video: submit a recorded audition by email or by uploading it to YouTube

•Audition on voice as your principal area using the standard music audition requirements
