Scholarship Audition Requirements

These requirements are from the Fall 2026 entry cycle. Fall 2027 requirements are typically posted between August and October and usually change only slightly — confirm on the official source before submitting.

Optional audition for scholarship consideration only; it is not required for program admission.

Monologues

Two Contrasting Monologues, 4 Minutes Total

Each monologue not more than 2 minutes

Selections should be contrasting: modern vs. period, comic vs. serious, prosaic vs. poetic, realistic vs. stylized

Material Selection

Choose selections close to your own age and life experience

Avoid characters of old age

Avoid extreme use of accents or dialects

Avoid gimmicky selections dependent on staging, props, or costumes

Presentation

Introduce yourself and state what you will perform

A chair will be provided in the audition space

Each live audition will be videotaped

What's The Process

Audition Process

Audition is for theatre scholarship consideration, not required for program admission

Must complete audition by April 1

In-person: visit campus and audition with theatre faculty

Video: submit recorded audition by email or YouTube

Do not use microphones or sound enhancement devices for recorded auditions
