•Bullet: Course major offers three areas of focus — Choreography, Dance Studies, and an Individually Created Special Major — with admission by faculty consensus after the first two years of study
•Bullet: Dance Studies courses are cross-listed with Music, Anthropology, Asian Studies, French and Francophone Studies, Gender and Sexuality Studies, Religion, Peace and Conflict Studies, Theater, and Comparative Literature
•Bullet: Choreography students take Dance Lab I and II: Making Dance and Improvisation courses that examine movement in relation to space, time, and energy dynamics
•Bullet: Studio Practice offers technique training in African, Ballet, Kathak, Modern, Taiko, Tap, Hip Hop, and Yoga forms, while Repertory/Ensemble courses are showcased each Fall and Spring dance concert as part of the Swarthmore College Arts Festival
Facilities
•Bullet: Housed in the Eugene and Theresa Lang Performing Arts Center, with dedicated Boyer Dance Studio and Troy Dance Lab studio spaces plus the LPAC & Pearson-Hall Theatre for performances
•Bullet: Daniel Underhill Music and Dance Library and an instrument collection of West African and Caribbean drums, Japanese taiko drums, West African xylophones, Indian tabla drums, and pianos support repertory coursework
