Program Highlights
TRAINING & EXPERIENCE
•Hands-on experience in design, lighting, sound, and production technology
•Students work on at least one production per semester
•Can serve as a designer on productions by end of second year
•General overview of all technical areas with specialization in one or two

•14-16 productions per year across Main Stage, Second Studio, and Black Box Grant shows

UTAH SHAKESPEARE FESTIVAL
•SUU/USF Fellowship: 10 paid positions per year (5 actors, 5 technicians)
•Fellowship includes scholarship for summer classes
•Shared facilities and professional mentorship
ACCREDITATION & CAREER OUTCOMES
•NAST accredited (National Association of Schools of Theatre)
•First public university in Utah accredited by NAST, NASAD, NASD, and NASM

•Must first apply and be accepted to Southern Utah University
•BFA auditions for current SUU students take place during March season audition period

PORTFOLIO REVIEW & INTERVIEW
•Schedule an interview date through the Acceptd application
•Department contacts you after application to schedule a time
•Interview lasts approximately 30 minutes
•Meet with faculty to discuss portfolio, goals, and program
INTERVIEW DATES

•In-Person: February 14, 2026 (check-in at 8:45 a.m.)
