TRAINING PHILOSOPHY

Balance of voice, body, and actor training for the well-rounded musical theatre performer
21 credits of music including applied voice lessons
20 credits of movement and dance
21 credits of acting plus 30 credits in general theatre

TRAINING & PRODUCTIONS

14-16 productions per year across Main Stage, Second Studio, and Black Box Grant shows
Main Stage season includes 2 musicals per year
Second Studio: student-directed productions including 1 musical
BFA Showcase trip to New York

UTAH SHAKESPEARE FESTIVAL

SUU/USF Fellowship: 10 paid positions per year (5 actors, 5 technicians)
Fellowship includes scholarship for summer classes
Shared facilities and professional mentorship

ELIGIBILITY

Must first apply and be accepted to Southern Utah University
BFA auditions for current SUU students take place during March season audition period

PRESCREEN

State your name and pieces at the beginning of your first monologue
Dance videos uploaded separately as part of the application

LIVE AUDITION

Individual audition followed by a short interview
After all private auditions: 1-hour masterclass and movement group class
Bring clothes to move in

Zoom: February 7 and February 28, 2026
In-Person: February 14, 2026 (check-in at 8:45 a.m.)
