Program Highlights
TRAINING PHILOSOPHY
•Classical text as cornerstone of actor training
•Focus on scoring, speaking, analyzing, and performing heightened language
•Produces actors skilled in both contemporary and classic plays
TRAINING & PRODUCTIONS
•14-16 productions per year across Main Stage, Second Studio, and Black Box Grant shows
•Main Stage season of 6-7 shows including dramas, comedies, musicals, and dance concerts
•Second Studio: 4 student-directed, acted, and designed productions
•BFA Showcase trip to New York
UTAH SHAKESPEARE FESTIVAL
•SUU/USF Fellowship: 10 paid positions per year (5 actors, 5 technicians)
•Fellowship includes scholarship for summer classes
•Shared facilities and professional mentorship

•Make sure pieces are age-appropriate

•Must first apply and be accepted to Southern Utah University
•BFA auditions for current SUU students take place during March season audition period

•State your name and pieces at the beginning of your first monologue
LIVE AUDITION
•Individual audition followed by a short interview
•After all private auditions: 1-hour masterclass and movement group class
•Bring clothes to move in
AUDITION DATES
•Zoom: February 7 and February 28, 2026
•In-Person: February 14, 2026 (check-in at 8:45 a.m.)
•Department contacts you after Acceptd application to schedule a time
