Audition Process
•Bullet: Placement audition required to major in Dance; it determines technique level placement
•Bullet: High school seniors and transfer students complete the placement audition and an optional scholarship interview in person or by video
•Bullet: In person at SUU Day of Dance in Cedar City: Saturday, December 12, 2026 and Saturday, March 6, 2027
◦Sub-bullet: Free event held in the Multipurpose Center, Room 116
◦Sub-bullet: Register in advance with the audition form and the liability form
◦Sub-bullet: Jazz, ballet, and modern classes taught by SUU Dance faculty are where technique level placement takes place
◦Sub-bullet: Scholarship applicants have brief individual interviews with Dance faculty
•Bullet: By video through the audition form
◦Sub-bullet: Video 1: demonstrate the combinations from the SUU Dance tutorial link in the audition form
◦Sub-bullet: Video 2: answer the SUU Dance prospective student questions listed in the form
◦Sub-bullet: Submit your general information, headshot image, and both videos through the form
◦Sub-bullet: Upload videos to Google Drive or Vimeo and submit the link; Google Drive links must allow anyone with the link to view, and private Vimeo links need a shared password
◦Sub-bullet: Placement-only video submissions (no scholarship consideration) are accepted at any time on an ongoing basis
◦Sub-bullet: Faculty are off contract May 15 to August 15, so notification can be delayed for placement videos submitted then
