Audition Process
•Step 1: Apply and be admitted to Susquehanna University
•Step 2: Register for an audition via the River Hawk Portal
•Step 3: Audition on campus (preferred) or submit a video audition followed by a virtual interview
Audition Expectations
•Performance on your primary instrument or voice in a standard performance area
•Portfolio of notated and/or recorded works demonstrating potential as a composer and/or producer
•Keyboard skills placement exam (play one piece, major and minor scales and arpeggios, sight-read a simple melody at the keyboard)
•Musicianship assessment (sing a simple hymn, folk, or patriotic song; basic pitch and rhythmic reading; identify intervals and chord types)
•Music theory test covering fundamentals (intervals, chord types, basic notation)
•In-person auditions are preferred and afford the best scholarship consideration
•Video auditions available for students unable to travel to campus, followed by a virtual interview
Decisions
•Audition before April 1 for best scholarship consideration
•Audition spots filled on a first-come, first-served basis
