Audition Process
•Bullet: Step 1: Apply and be admitted to Susquehanna University
•Bullet: Step 2: Register for an audition via the River Hawk Portal
•Bullet: Step 3: Audition on campus (preferred) or submit a video audition followed by a virtual interview
Audition Expectations
•Bullet: Performance on your primary instrument or voice (repertoire depends on your area — see the audition and scholarship brochure)
•Bullet: Keyboard skills placement exam, musicianship assessment, and music theory test (placement diagnostics)
Interview
•Bullet: Interview with a music education faculty member to explore degree requirements and discuss career goals
•Bullet: Candidates should demonstrate strong listening skills, the ability to clearly express ideas, enthusiasm for the profession, and thoughts on the importance of music education for all children
Decisions
•Bullet: Audition before April 1 for best scholarship consideration
•Bullet: Audition spots filled on a first-come, first-served basis
