Audition Expectations
•Crane requires an audition for all music degree programs, including the BA Music
•Song requirements shown are for voice auditioners; requirements vary by primary instrument
•Electronic Digital Instrument (EDI) is available as an audition pathway for BA Music only
•On-campus, off-campus (Long Island), and video audition options available
•No registration fee for on-campus auditions
•$50 non-refundable registration fee for off-campus auditions
•$30 non-refundable accompanist fee for all live vocal auditions
•Crane provides accompanists; students must use the provided accompanist
•Upload videos to Acceptd
•Submit a separate video for each piece (preferred)
•Include name, title, and composer (spoken or as text) in each video
•Frame video head-to-toe so entire body is visible
•No close microphone or audio processing
•One continuous take per piece; no cutting or pasting
Decisions
•Audition results typically arrive within two to three weeks
•Must have completed SUNY Potsdam application to receive results
