Training
•Bullet: The doctoral conducting route is published separately from the instrumental and vocal DMA areas, with its own curriculum and its own concentrations in Band/Wind Ensemble, Choral and Orchestra — Musical Theatre conducting is offered only at master's level.
•Bullet: Coursework develops conducting, score analysis and interpretive skills rather than solo repertoire, inside a three-year DMA balanced with music literature, theory, research, writing and career-skills navigation.
•Bullet: Low teacher-to-student ratios give individual attention from nationally and internationally recognized faculty, with graduates prepared for collegiate performance or teaching careers.
Performance & Productions
•Bullet: More than 400 performances a year across the conservatory's 20-plus instrumental, vocal and dance ensembles supply the repertoire a doctoral conductor rehearses and presents.
