Training
•Bullet: Conducting is one of the Artist Diploma's applied areas, listed alongside seventeen instrumental areas plus string quartet and other chamber ensembles; Shenandoah does not offer the Artist Diploma in voice at all.
•Bullet: The post-master's diploma admits exceptional performers or ensembles who already hold a master's degree, conservatory equivalent or professional credentials with appropriate music history and theory credits.
•Bullet: Podium time is drawn from the conservatory's 20-plus instrumental, vocal and dance ensembles, which work regularly with guest artists through residencies and workshops.
Performance & Productions
•Bullet: Shenandoah Conservatory presents more than 400 performances each year across a concert hall, recital hall, proscenium stage, black box studio and outdoor amphitheater, plus venues around the Northern Shenandoah Valley and abroad.
Professional Development
•Bullet: Stated goals for diploma candidates are entering major competitions, auditioning for major orchestras and launching a professional performing career — for a conductor, a podium résumé rather than another degree transcript.
