•Bullet: After applying, contact Music Admissions to register for an audition at least seven days before your requested date
•Bullet: School of Music decision sent the week following your audition date
•Bullet: Talent scholarship amount included in your financial aid package
•Bullet: May 1 is National Decision Day to commit
Audition Format
•Bullet: Florida residents are required to audition in person on campus in DeLand, FL
•Bullet: Out-of-state students may audition in person or request a virtual audition
•Bullet: Virtual auditions: email Music Admissions, then submit recorded video links via the Hatter Portal Virtual Music Form (YouTube Unlisted preferred)
•Bullet: Early Decision I applicants submit video auditions via the Hatter Portal by November 1; Early Decision II applicants submit by January 5. Both schedule a faculty meeting in November
Progression
•Bullet: Music Theory majors must maintain a 3.0 cumulative GPA in theory courses and earn a C- or better in aural training and Introduction to Composition to advance to the junior level — this is an academic progression standard, not an admission audition
•Bullet: Many music theory majors double-major in composition or performance
