Program Recognition
•Six music arts management students — Gio Choi, Isabella Lambert, Sebastian Kuhn, Alex Rudnick, Luke Gerhardt, and Ngozi Permaul — received Lamond GenNext Awards to attend the NAMM (National Association of Music Merchants) Show in Los Angeles in January 2025, covering a cash stipend and admission to NAMM U sessions
Training
•BS in Music Arts Management (Curriculum 0274, 52-53 credits) pairs a Music Core (theory, aural skills, music history, music technology) with a 24-credit Business/Management Core spanning financial and managerial accounting, marketing, grant writing, and three public-relations electives
•Coursework spans both the School of Arts and Sciences and the School of Business and Economics, capped by a Senior Seminar or a paid internship (MUS 498)
•Launched in 2019, one of the college's only interdisciplinary degrees combining business, public relations, audio/video production, and music
Professional Development
•Program internship possibilities cited by the department include Glimmerglass Opera in Cooperstown, Opera America in New York City, the Flynn Center for the Performing Arts in Burlington, the Strand Center for the Arts in Plattsburgh, and the Albany Symphony
•Graduates have gone on to work in radio, business, music studio production, and public relations
