Training
•Bullet: Media production is the multimedia program within the Communication Studies Department, spanning three areas: Audio-Radio Production, Digital Media Production, and TV-Video Production
•Bullet: Students build websites, produce digital videos, and develop audio expertise while working in a professional TV studio, with hands-on training beginning from day one rather than reserved for upper-level coursework
•Bullet: A popular double-major pairing, often combined with public relations or another communication-department track to broaden content-creation and storytelling skills
Professional Development
•Bullet: Additional experiential options include the Collaborative Discussion certificate program, internships, and independent studies
•Bullet: Students can join the National Communication Association honor society Lambda Pi Eta
•Bullet: Graduates pursue roles spanning audio engineering, TV news production, film and video editing/color, graphic design, podcast production, animation, and web development
Facilities
•Bullet: Students produce television programs, live sporting events, music videos, and podcasts through the department's on-campus outlets: Plattsburgh State Television (PSTV) and WARP online streaming radio
