Scholarship Audition Requirements

These requirements are from the Fall 2026 entry cycle. Fall 2027 requirements are typically posted between August and October and usually change only slightly — confirm on the official source before submitting.

Optional audition for scholarship consideration only; it is not required for program admission.

Songs

Option B Song Requirement

32 bars of one song paired with one monologue

Total presentation must not exceed three minutes

Accompanist is provided for vocal auditions; bring clearly marked sheet music

Monologues

Requirements

Two Contrasting monologues, 3 min combined max

Prepare two contrasting monologues

Combined time must not exceed 3 minutes

Alternative Option

May instead prepare one monologue + 32 bars of one song

Total presentation must not exceed 3 minutes

Accompanist provided for vocal auditions

Sheet Music (If Singing)

Must be clearly marked and double-sided

Place in a three-hole-punched binder for the accompanist

Additional Materials

Headshot

Required: recent headshot or photo

Resume

Required: theatrical resume

Statement

Required: one-page statement of artistic goals

SAW participation required for scholarship consideration

Eligibility

Any student admitted to St. Edward's University may declare Theatre Arts major

Students choose specialization after freshman year

May also audition for BFA in Acting during spring of freshman year
