Training
•BA Video Production is housed in the Jandoli School of Communication, one of just 19 private undergraduate programs nationally accredited by ACEJMC (the Accrediting Council on Education in Journalism and Mass Communications)
•The 41-credit major covers video storytelling, field production, studio production, post-production, and documentary work, culminating in a Comprehensive Experience capstone
•Students choose a 6-credit experiential learning track: Sports TV Production I & II or Broadcast Journalism seminars
Professional Development
•Degree requires 400 hours of professional internship experience on- or off-campus (transfer students complete 100 hours per year on campus instead)
•Curriculum requires a minimum of 72 credit hours outside JMC or SC coursework, per ACEJMC accreditation guidelines
Facilities
•Students work in an HD control room used for live sports telecasts, filling camera operator, audio technician, technical director, and graphics operator roles
•Studio production space includes lighting and chroma key capability; field production equipment supports location shoots
•Produced work airs through campus outlets SBU-TV, WSBU-FM, and ESPN+ broadcasts
