Program Recognition
•Housed in an NASD-accredited Department of Dance (first nationally accredited in 2000), one of only three Pennsylvania programs named to DanceUS.org's best college dance programs list for 2021-22
Training
•Pairs advanced concert-dance training with a Business Administration specialization aimed at studio ownership, dance-company management, marketing, public relations, and arts administration careers
•Business core draws from accounting, marketing, management, and nonprofit administration courses (e.g., ACCT 209, MKTG 230, MGMT 351/370, NLPA 305) alongside daily technique
•Students take a minimum of one technique class per day each semester; final-year requirements reach Level VI Modern Dance and Level IV Ballet or Jazz Dance
Performance & Productions
•Three resident companies to perform with: Slippery Rock University Dance Theatre (SRUDT), Palenque Colombian Dance Ensemble, and the student-run hip-hop group Dance Express
•Season includes BFA capstone concerts, the 60x60 showcase, Fresh Moves, and Composition I & II concerts

•Stoner West Dance Studio Theater offers a 2,245 sq ft dance floor with fixed seating for 200+

•Aligns with the department's Minor in Business Administration for students targeting administrative roles in dance organizations
