•The Music Department is part of SAU's School of Communication, Media & Fine Arts
•The department frames music study through liberal arts learning and a Christ-centered mission
Training
•Music majors study theory, aural skills, music history, conducting, production, applied lessons, and ensembles
•The Music Performance Concentration requires applied lessons on the primary instrument for 8 semesters
•Music majors complete semester juries, a sophomore check, and junior/professional recitals
Performance & Productions
•Department ensembles include University Singers, Gospel Choir, Concert Band, String Ensemble, Jazz Lab Band, Jazz Ensemble, Chapel Band, and Rooted
•Private lessons are available for voice or nearly any musical instrument

•Music scholarships are available for students who audition into the music program and for students active in ensembles
