•Interdisciplinary approach to performance offering opportunities in performance, theatre studies, and creative industries
•Students encouraged to experiment with performance modalities featuring text, film, songs, and site-specific areas
•African American cultural forms integrated with diverse creative methodologies from around the world
•Focus on developing critical and practical analysis of performance, art, social activism, and politics
•All majors participate in at least four departmental productions
•Students attend general auditions and audition for each departmental production for experience
•Internships encouraged during time in department
