•The Certificate of Achievement follows a three-semester, 18–21-unit plan drawn from the music major core
•The first two terms pair theory and aural skills with individual instruction and a performing ensemble in each semester
•The third term combines introductory music study and an ensemble with a choice of music technology, further theory, or electroacoustic composition
Performance & Productions
•Approved ensembles include concert band, guitar, Latin jazz, big band, small groups, orchestra, choirs, and mariachi; learning outcomes include accurate score reading and blending with other performers
Professional Development
•The catalog presents the credential as preparation for beginning music lessons or tutoring and as coursework toward an associate music degree or transfer
