Training
•18-credit minor pairs a foundational course — Foundations of Acting, Principles of Design or Stagecraft I — with a theatre-history or dramaturgy elective (History of Theatre I or II, Historic Dance for Actors, or Play Analysis and Dramaturgy) and a 1-credit technical-production or rehearsal-and-performance practicum
•The remaining 11 elective credits let minors shape the program toward performance, design or technical theatre alongside their primary major, with department advisement
Performance & Productions
•Minors audition for the department's four-show season through the same open, post-enrollment audition process as majors and can join the student-run Crescent Players production organization
•The minor shares the Theatre Department's John Lyman Center for the Performing Arts venues and scenic/costume production spaces used for departmental productions
Location
•New Haven placement gives minors the same regional and New York City theatre access — plus internship pipelines to Long Wharf Theatre, Hartford Stage, Elm Shakespeare Company and Goodspeed Musicals — that the department offers majors
