Monologues

Two Contrasting Monologues

One 60-90 second monologue from a contemporary play (1900-present)

One 60-90 second monologue from a classic play (before 1900)

Monologues must be from published plays

Monologues cannot be from musicals, television shows, or movies

Both monologues must be memorized

Additional Materials

Letter of Recommendation (Required)

One letter from a past theatre teacher or director

What's The Process

Audition Expectations

Audition/interview plays a primary role in the admission decision

In-person auditions may be scheduled on campus; video auditions are accepted in lieu of live auditions

Current posted audition dates are for the completed 2025-2026 cycle; Fall 2027 audition dates are not yet published

All students are admitted on a two-year probationary period

Jury audition and/or interview occurs at the end of the second and fourth semesters

Faculty evaluate status and progress to approve advanced study

Scholarship Info

Performance Scholarships

Theatre performance scholarships range from $500-$2,500 per semester for up to 8 semesters for theatre majors

Applicants auditioning for Theatre majors are required to audition for a theatre scholarship

Scholarship recipients must remain in the major, participate in assigned productions or work calls, enroll full time, and meet GPA expectations
