Two Contrasting 1-Minute Song Cuts

Prepare two contrasting 1-minute song cuts

One song should have been written before 1970; it may be either the up-tempo or ballad

One song should have been written after 1970 and contrast the style of the first

Monologues

One Contemporary Monologue

Prepare one 1-2 minute monologue from a contemporary play (1900-present)

What's The Process

Audition Expectations

Audition/interview plays a primary role in the admission decision

In-person auditions may be scheduled on campus; video auditions are accepted in lieu of live auditions

Dated audition days are published through the 2026-2027 academic year (see Key Info for the current schedule); in-person auditions can also be scheduled at any time

All students are admitted on a two-year probationary period

Jury audition and/or interview occurs at the end of the second and fourth semesters

Faculty evaluate status and progress to approve advanced study

Scholarship Info

Performance Scholarships

Theatre performance scholarships range from $500-$2,500 per semester for up to 8 semesters for theatre majors

Applicants auditioning for Theatre majors are required to audition for a theatre scholarship

Scholarship recipients must remain in the major, participate in assigned productions or work calls, enroll full time, and meet GPA expectations
