Repertoire
•Bullet: Voice (choral ensembles): Perform 2 musical selections; one may be from any music genre, and one must be from traditional, "classical" repertoire
•Bullet: Voice: All selections must be memorized
•Bullet: Brass and woodwinds (Wind Ensemble or Orchestra): Two major scales of your choice, 2 octaves
•Bullet: Brass and woodwinds: Perform 2 contrasting movements (technical and lyrical) from standard works; an etude may be substituted for one of the movements
•Bullet: Percussion (Wind Ensemble or Percussion Ensemble): Choose 2 from snare drum solo, mallet solo, timpani solo, or drum set
•Bullet: Percussion: A drum set selection should be in popular or jazz music styles with live or pre-recorded accompaniment (backing tracks), emphasizing time and feel
•Bullet: Strings (Orchestra): One 3-octave major and melodic minor scale of your choice, played at a medium tempo slurring 2 notes per bow or with separate bows
•Bullet: Strings: Perform 2 contrasting works from the standard repertoire or orchestral excerpts that demonstrate the highest level of technical ability
Accompaniment
•Bullet: Vocalists: In-person applicants must email music@seu.edu at least 2 weeks before the audition date to say whether they need an accompanist or will supply their own
•Bullet: Vocalists: An accompaniment track must be cued up before the audition, of clear quality, and in the correct key
