Training
•The 2026-2027 Instrumental Music Education concentration is a 134-credit Bachelor of Music plan combining applied music, ensembles, theory, aural skills, music history, and instrumental-methods electives with education preparation.
•The curriculum includes Advanced Instrumental Conducting, Elementary Music Methods, Introduction to Music Education, and Band Methods.
Professional Development
•The final year includes a six-credit Teaching Residency and a nine-credit Teaching Residency Capstone, while earlier work includes classroom-management, communication-for-teachers, and diverse-learner coursework.
•Ensemble assignments may include wind symphony, symphonic band, chamber ensemble, orchestra, jazz ensemble, athletic bands, and the Southeastern Contemporary Music Ensemble.
