Repertoire
•Woodwind and brass: two solo movements or etudes of moderate difficulty in contrasting styles (not ensemble music)
•Strings: approximately 20 minutes of music including at least two contrasting pieces or movements
•Percussion: prepared concert snare drum, timpani, and mallet solos or etudes (works by Cirone, Delecluse, Hochrainer, Firth, Ford, Burritt, and similar composers are suggested)
•Guitar: prepared solo pieces or studies in any style (classically trained applicants may prepare works by Sor, Carcassi, or Tarrega)
Scales & Technique
•Percussion: all major scales (two octaves) plus sight-reading
•Guitar: two major scales in two octaves, plus slurs, vibrato, and arpeggios as able
