Audition Required
•Enrollment in the BM program is by audition only
•Must first be admitted to Snow College (separate application)
•Must also apply for admission to the BM degree program
Audition Options
•Option 1: Participate in annual scholarship auditions (typically mid-February)
•Option 2: Audition by appointment with your area coordinator
•Video auditions available for out-of-state/international students
Audition by Instrument
•Perform a solo piece of sophomore-level difficulty
•May include scales, etudes, or sight-reading evaluation
•Vocal: two contrasting pieces (5-7 minutes)
•Piano: two contrasting pieces from memory, scales and sight-reading (15 minutes)
•Strings: two contrasting solos or solo and etude
•Wind/Brass: one prepared piece plus scales
•Guitar: two contrasting pieces, comping and soloing
•Percussion: one prepared solo
•Jazz: one piece demonstrating reading and improvisation
