Training
•The AS combines acting, dramatic literature, theatre history, stagecraft, lighting, costume, directing, film, and script analysis with practical work in performance and production.
•Students learn from faculty-artists and apply classroom skills to live work from the beginning of the two-year program.
Performance & Productions
•The department mounts three to four fully produced shows each year and supports Theatre Guild and the Badgers in a Bathtub improv team.
•Performance, production, and design practica let students work onstage and backstage while developing professional standards.
Facilities
•The 550-seat Kim Christison Theatre offers a professional-scale proscenium, fly system, orchestra pit, and modern lighting and sound equipment.
•The flexible Haslam Blackbox Theatre hosts student-directed and intimate work; dedicated design, costume, scene, and paint shops support hands-on production training.
Degree Flexibility
•The catalog provides a suggested two-year plan for students preparing to transfer into upper-division theatre study.
