•Technique-focused curriculum covering ballet, contemporary modern, jazz, hip-hop, tap, salsa, Latin folklorico, and tango
•Includes Musical Theater Dance courses and cross-department collaboration with Music, Drama, and Visual Arts on musical productions
•Program revised in 2018 for efficiency; major coursework can be completed in under 1.5 years
Performance & Productions
•Dance Concerts each semester with opportunities to choreograph and perform original work
•Fall and Spring Musical productions in the 500-seat Skyline College Theater
•Dance Honor Society supports student-produced shows and community performances
Faculty
•Amber Steele (MFA Choreography, Mills College): program lead, appeared on Season 5 of America's Got Talent, toured Germany and performed at the Cannes Film Festival
•Ken Delmar: 20+ years at Skyline, danced with the Joffrey Ballet, Netherlands Dance Theater, Stuttgart Ballet, and the Bolshoi Ballet; previously taught at Stanford University
•Kevin Simmers: 25+ years at Skyline, soloist with the National Ballet of Ireland, founding member of the San Francisco Shakespeare Festival
Degree Flexibility
•Prepares students to transfer to four-year university dance programs for BA, MA, MFA, or PhD
