APPLICATION STEPS
•Apply to SJSU through Cal State Apply before the university deadline
•After admission, watch for a late December or early January email from the Dance program about auditions
•Register for the program audition through the department's Google form
ENROLLMENT
•Submit your Intent to Enroll after audition results are released
•Contact dance@sjsu.edu or 408-924-5041 for audition logistics
What's The Process
AUDITION PROCESS
•The BA Dance pathway uses a placement audition as part of the application process
•Students first apply to SJSU, then complete the dance audition after they are contacted by the department
•In-person audition day for Fall 2026 entry is February 13, 2026
•Students who live beyond the 250-mile radius or cannot attend the scheduled audition should contact Professor Chafin Seymour about next steps
Scholarship Info
DANCE SCHOLARSHIPS
•Virginia Ann Dance Scholarships may award up to full tuition for incoming freshmen and transfers
•Virginia Ann awards may last from 2 to 4 years
•Legacy Scholarship Award ranges from $200 to $1,200 for an incoming freshman or transfer and is renewable for spring
•All dance majors are eligible for annual merit-based SJSU dance scholarship consideration
