Training
•Bullet: Guitar is the applied area within a Sacred Music BM designed for work in Roman Catholic and Protestant liturgical and nonliturgical churches.
•Bullet: Study includes theology, liturgy, hymnology, organ literature and pedagogy, service playing, improvisation, Music in Worship and Sacred Music Practicum.
•Bullet: Guitarists study with named faculty member Raymond Myers and have a dedicated Guitar Ensemble among the department’s specialized groups.
•Bullet: The guitarist pathway can also connect to the Commercial Music Ensemble for amplified and contemporary ensemble work.
Performance & Productions
•Bullet: Students study voice, piano and organ, participate in ensembles including a handbell component, and attend a yearly series of workshops, recitals and master classes.
Facilities
•Bullet: The Performing Arts Center supplies professional practice and performance spaces; sacred-music faculty are active church musicians in the region.
