Training
•Bullet: Guitar is the applied performance area within the BM Commercial Music pathway.
•Bullet: The published curriculum includes songwriting, sound theory and practice, audio engineering and production, jazz improvisation, commercial and jazz arranging, music business and Commercial Music Practicum.
•Bullet: Guitarists study with named faculty member Raymond Myers and have a dedicated Guitar Ensemble among the department’s specialized groups.
•Bullet: The guitarist pathway can also connect to the Commercial Music Ensemble for amplified and contemporary ensemble work.
Performance & Productions
•Bullet: Commercial majors take part in every aspect of the Commercial Music Ensemble and in the department’s full annual concert season.
Facilities
•Bullet: The Performing Arts Center includes Reichgut Concert Hall and Ryan Theatre, with spaces for classes, rehearsal, performance and music technology.
