Training
•The BA combines private instruction, ensembles, composition, music technology and performance with study across Seattle University.
•Weekly individual lessons can center on an instrument, voice or composition, with elective lessons supporting additional musical interests. The department works across classical, jazz, pop and experimental styles.
Performance & Productions
•Music students perform each semester in the Scores of Sound Festival, with additional student showcases offered during the year.
Professional Development
•BA students develop portfolios and professional skills through faculty mentoring, interdisciplinary collaboration, internships and connections in Seattle music.
Degree Flexibility
•The BA leaves room for a second major or multiple minors. Published combinations include Physics, Mathematics, Psychology and French, with advising to coordinate music and other academic interests.
