Audition Requirements

These requirements are from the Fall 2026 entry cycle. Fall 2027 requirements are typically posted between August and October and usually change only slightly — confirm on the official source before submitting.

Songs

One Song (Alternative to Second Monologue)

•One song may be paired with one monologue instead of performing two contrasting monologues

•Total audition length is four minutes

•Provide sheet music for any in-person audition

Monologues

Two Contrasting Monologues or One Monologue and One Song, 4 Min Total

•4 minutes total audition length

•If including a song, must provide sheet music for any in-person audition

Additional Materials

Statement

•Required statement of purpose, 1,000 words max

•Copy and paste the statement into the SlideRoom form

Resume

•Required resume copied into the SlideRoom form with simple formatting

Questionnaire

•Required graduate questions form covers application status, intended campus/quarter, citizenship, SCAD ID, short written responses, software/program experience, and originality/citation acknowledgments

•Written responses include: Why SCAD?; favorite artist/designer; life/professional experience; grades/test-score reflection, 250 words max each

Transcript

•Required unofficial transcript showing a bachelor's degree or equivalent through the SCAD application/admission process
